CogniToy partners with Loki to bring MindRover to Linux

Acton, MA -- June 20, 2000, CogniToy, announced today a partnership with Loki Software, Inc. to provide a Linux version of their highly-acclaimed robot strategy game, "MindRover: The Europa Project".

With MindRover you create autonomous robotic vehicles and then compete them in races, battles, and sports. These custom robots can be traded with friends via email or uploaded to competitions at various websites, including CogniToys. One of the unique features of MindRover is that the custom vehicles are platform-independent. MindRover players using Windows can exchange vehicles with players using Linux and compete their vehicles in the same arena.

Players 'program' their vehicles by wiring together components and setting properties. Behind the innovative wiring interface is a complete object-oriented language and compiler, called ICE, which players can explore if they want to learn more or create new components and levels. "We are very excited to port MindRover to the Linux platform" remarked Kent Quirk, MindRover's design architect, "we believe that the Linux community will really appreciate the depth and expandability of a game like MindRover."

Loki Software, Inc., established in 1998, has brought several top-line games to the Linux platform including Quake III Arena, Civilization: Call to Power, Heroes of Might & Magic III, Heavy Gear II and many more. For more information visit http://www.lokigames.com.
