For Immediate Release, 2/1/01
ACTON, MA. February 1, 2001 -MindRover: the Europa Project, the highly acclaimed simulation/strategy game from CogniToy, has three brand new scenarios available for downloading at their web site, cognitoy.com. Even better, all of these action-packed additions, Mouse Hunt, Enemy Encounter and Dinky Duos, are absolutely free for owners of the full PC version of MindRover 1.07.
MindRover takes place on a scientific research station on Europa, one of Jupiter's moons. Here, on a monotonous sphere of ice, players will take on the challenge of re-programming the station's robotic vehicles for their amusement and recreation. They will first create their own custom-made robot vehicles using components such as rocket launchers, radar, sensors, and fireworks. The brains of the robots are programmed using the game's highly acclaimed drag and drop "wiring" system. The robots are then sent off into competitions in high-tech arenas including races, games, puzzles, and robot combat.
The three new scenarios are a must for all MindRover enthusiasts, especially those who want to sharpen their team battle strategies. All take place in the Hydroponics Lab of Europa's scientific research station and come with three levels of opponents: easy, medium and hard. The clock is ticking in Mouse Hunt where players get one minute to catch sonar-enhanced robotic mice careening around the lab. The vehicle with the highest "mouse count" wins. Meanwhile, Enemy Encounter is a no-holds-barred one-on-one battle where players strive to defeat an enemy five times. The health and points of both vehicles are broadcast during the match so players can create a strategy for their robots based on this information.
Dinky Duos is the first two-on-two battle scenario available for MindRover. Here the chassis are limited to the smallest (dinkiest) wheeled, hovercraft or tank bodies and the object is to achieve three more "kills" than the opponent. CogniToy and Raven Glass studios have also announced a special Dinky Duos contest. Players can email their top Dinky Duo teams to CogniToy to enter this contest. The winner will be presented with a special glass trophy from Raven Glass. More information about this exciting contest can be found at cognitoy.com/players/players.htm.
